This wonderful gel receives so much praise for its stand against muscle or joint pain. There are two options of gel available - 90% DMSO, or 70% DMSO with Aloe Vera. If you have very sensitive skin, the option with Aloe Vera is much more gentle on the skin.

Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) is a 100% natural product which is documented as a safe substance. Applied sparingly and carefully to painful areas, it can help to reduce inflammation and swelling as well as dilating blood vessels to increase the supply and circulation of blood. It is also one of the most potent antioxidants known.

It can be a potent pain reliever in burns, acne, arthritis, injuries, scleroderma, toothaches, headaches and muscle strains. It helps soften scar tissues. In fact, it is useful in well over 300 ailments and it is completely safe to use.

DMSO is non-toxic but some precautions are needed when using it. It may temporarily irritate and wrinkle skin if handled improperly. It is a potent carrier, carrying whatever is with it through the skin. This means you need to handle DMSO with care and clean hands, washing them thoroughly again after application.

Here are some general safety rules about handling DMSO:

  • Do not use DMSO when pregnant or nursing.
  • Avoid contact with eyes.
  • If diluting DMSO use distilled water or very clean organic substances such as coconut oil or aloe vera. 50%-70% dilution is often suggested.
  • While DMSO is still wet after being applied, do not let it come into contact with any substance or clothing. Let it penetrate and dry for about 20 minutes.
  • You may like to use gloves when applying DMSO to the skin.
  • Temporal skin irritation, redness, itching, wrinkling of the skin may occur if DMSO is insufficiently diluted but these kinds of irritations disappear quickly.
  • If you have a pain in the liver area after using DMSO, avoid using DMSO and do a liver cleanse before using it again.
  • Use chemical-free soap to wash application areas and hands before and after applying DMSO.

Powerful

This stuff really works for muscle pain relief and on inflamed skin making it clearer over night. I would use the Aloe Vera gel in combination as it is particularly strong when topically applied.

Great for pain releif

I did lots of research on DMSO before buying this gel, so thought I knew what to expect. However, the potency of this gel is high, I chose the 70% gel, thinking it would be okay on my skin, but I was wrong. The gel really helped with the pain, but it makes my skin itch, this did wear off after about half an hour though. As this was my first time using the DMSO, I think I needed to start with a lower percentage to get used to it. Unfortunately you do not do a 50% or even a 25% gel, so I will need to look elsewhere now. But for those of you out there wondering if it really works, well it did for me and I suffer with nerve damage down my legs and this gel really took the pain away.
